What is an SEO audit and why does it matter?

An SEO audit is not a generic checklist. It is a forensic analysis of your organic presence that cross-references business data, technical signals, content quality and authority profile to pinpoint with surgical precision what is limiting your visibility on Google.

We cross-reference data from Google Analytics 4 with Search Console, Sistrix and Screaming Frog to detect not only the obvious issues, but the invisible opportunities: keywords where you are about to break into the top 3, cannibalizations diluting your strength, or toxic backlinks eroding your authority without you even knowing.

Technical analysis

The technical layer is the foundation on which everything else is built. If Google cannot crawl, interpret and index your website correctly, all other SEO efforts are useless.

We use Screaming Frog to crawl every URL as Googlebot would. We cross-reference that data with Search Console crawl statistics and the actual indexation status to detect the discrepancies that are killing your visibility.

Indexation and indexability

We compare the site: command with the sitemap and Screaming Frog to detect discrepancies between what Google has indexed, what you want indexed and what is actually indexable.

Crawlability

We analyze crawl statistics in Search Console: how many pages Google crawls per day, what responses it gets and where it wastes time on irrelevant URLs.

URL structure

We evaluate syntax, depth, chained redirects, unnecessary parameters and structural coherence with the site architecture.

Sitemap and robots.txt

We verify that the sitemap does not contain URLs with noindex, redirects or 404 errors. We audit the robots.txt to ensure it does not block critical resources.

Core Web Vitals

We measure LCP, INP and CLS with field data (CrUX) and lab data (PageSpeed Insights). We identify the specific resources degrading each metric.

Structured data

We audit the existing Schema.org markup, detect validation errors and identify Rich Snippet opportunities that increase organic CTR.

Mobile usability

We review the mobile device experience: touch elements, viewport, text size, intrusive interstitials and issues reported in Search Console.

Security and protocols

We verify correct HTTPS, mixed content, HSTS, HTTP-to-HTTPS redirects and certificates. Any security failure directly impacts Google's trust.

Content

Content analysis

Content is what Google evaluates to decide if you deserve to be on page one. We analyze every layer: from information architecture to perceived quality at the EEAT level.

Information architecture

We evaluate the menu structure, category hierarchy and click depth. A user (and Googlebot) should reach any important page in 3 clicks or fewer. We detect broken silos, confusing navigation and restructuring opportunities.

Cannibalizations

We use a proprietary methodology with Google Sheets that cross-references Search Console data with Semrush positions to identify when two or more URLs compete for the same keyword. Cannibalization is one of the most frequent and most ignored problems: it dilutes your ranking power and confuses Google about which page to show.

EEAT and AI content

We evaluate the Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trust signals that Google looks for. We detect AI-generated content that may be affecting perceived quality, pages without identifiable authorship, and the absence of first-hand experience signals that Google increasingly values.

Internal linking and link juice

We map internal authority distribution: which pages receive the most internal links, which are orphaned and how link juice flows through your architecture. Poor internal linking leaves your most important pages without the strength needed to compete.

Thin content and duplicates

We identify pages with insufficient content, excessive internal similarity (near-duplicates) and duplicate content that Google may be consolidating into URLs you do not want. Every page must provide unique value or it should not exist.

Images and multimedia

We audit alt text, formats (WebP/AVIF), dimensions, lazy loading and optimization for Google Images. Images represent an organic traffic source that most websites completely ignore.

Off-page

Authority analysis

Domain authority determines your ability to compete for high-difficulty keywords. We analyze your backlink profile with the same rigor we apply to every technical dimension.

We cross-reference data from Ahrefs and Semrush for a complete picture: who links to you, from what type of page, with what anchor text, and whether those links add or subtract. We also look at what your competition is doing and where the opportunities are that you are not leveraging.

Domain authority (DA)

Direct comparison with your top 5 competitors. The absolute number does not matter: your relative position does.

Referring domains

Quantity, quality and diversity of domains pointing to your site. One link from a national newspaper is not worth the same as 100 from directories.

Dofollow/nofollow distribution

A natural profile has both types. An imbalanced ratio can signal manipulation or missed opportunities.

Anchor text

We analyze anchor text distribution to detect over-optimization (penalizable) or under-optimization (wasted potential).

Toxic links

We identify low-quality backlinks, spam or link farms that may require a disavow file in Search Console.

Link gap

Who links to your competition but not to you. Each link is a documented outreach opportunity in the deliverable.
